July 14, 2017Kunduzlu Dam
The construction of Kunduzlu Dam, built with an investment of approximately TRY 31 million by the General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works (DSI) in Corum's Bayat district, has been successfully completed. Realized within the framework of the "1,071 Ponds in a Thousand Days Project," the dam provides a permanent solution to the region's long-awaited drinking water needs.
Technical Specifications
Constructed at a height of 51 meters from the foundation, Kunduzlu Dam has a water storage capacity of approximately 2 million cubic meters. Within the scope of the project, all cofferdam, diversion tunnel, spillway, body fill, and upstream face concrete works have been completed in full. Along with the dam, the drinking water transmission line, reservoirs, and water treatment plant have also been completed and integrated into the system.
Contribution to the Region
Kunduzlu Dam supplies 2.06 million cubic meters of drinking and utility water annually to a total of 31 villages, including Bayat district center and the towns of Kunduzlu and Eskialibey within the district. With the completion of the project, the water shortage experienced by the local population for many years has been resolved, achieving a significant improvement in quality of life.
This project, undertaken by Best Tasarim Insaat A.S., has once again demonstrated the company's engineering capacity and project management competency in the field of dams and hydraulic structures.
