Contract Signed for Diyarbakir Kurucay Dam Irrigation Project

Best Tasarim Insaat A.S. signed the contract for the Diyarbakir Kurucay Dam Irrigation Project, one of the important irrigation investments within the scope of the Southeastern Anatolia Project (GAP), with the DSI (State Hydraulic Works) General Directorate 10th Regional Directorate on January 13, 2017.
Project Scope and Strategic Importance
The Kurucay Dam Irrigation, one of the storage irrigations of the Silvan Project, aims to irrigate 50,300 decares of agricultural land in the Dicle River Left Bank Plains with a modern irrigation system. The project constitutes one of the critical components of the large-scale Silvan Project, which will irrigate an area of 2,350,000 decares.
Contribution to Regional Development
Upon completion of the Kurucay Dam Irrigation, the agricultural production capacity in the region will increase significantly, and crop diversity and productivity will rise through the transition from dryland to irrigated farming. The project will also support the economic development of the region by ensuring the effective and sustainable utilization of water resources, and is projected to contribute approximately TRY 38,560,000 annually to the national economy.
