Corum Bayat Kunduzlu Pond Nearing Completion

The physical completion rate of the Kunduzlu Pond, under construction in Corum's Bayat district within the framework of the General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works (DSI) "1,071 Ponds in a Thousand Days Project," has reached 95 percent. The project, which will meet the drinking water needs of Bayat district center and 31 villages, has reached the completion stage.
Technical Specifications and Completed Works
Constructed at a height of 51 meters from the foundation, Kunduzlu Pond has a water storage volume of approximately 2 million cubic meters. Within the scope of the project, all cofferdam, diversion tunnel, spillway, body fill, and upstream face concrete works have been successfully completed.
Within the framework of this project built for drinking water supply, the drinking water transmission line, water reservoirs, and treatment plant have also been completed and integrated into the system. The pond is targeted to be fully completed within August.
Expected Contribution to the Region
Built with an investment cost of approximately TRY 25 million, Kunduzlu Pond will supply 2 million cubic meters of drinking and utility water annually to Bayat district center and the surrounding 31 villages upon completion. The project will provide a permanent solution to the water shortage experienced by the local population for an extended period, achieving a significant improvement in quality of life.
